Economic Education for Young Managers – Junior Achievement Macedonia (JA) exists for stimulating entrepreneurship and raising the level of employment among young people through strengthening their skills and competencies to start their own business. JA Macedonia stands for supporting them through many JA programs and activities in order to help the local development of the national economy.

Junior Achievement is a program for the economic education of youth and women from 7 to 30 years of age, involving a partnership between the education and business sector. Junior Achievement Macedonia is a member of the JA Worldwide and JA-YEEuropeof 110 participating countries. A pilot program was established in 1996. Due to its success, the program was expanded to include JA classes at all levels in schools throughoutMacedonia. JA Macedonia became an independent registered non-governmental organization (NGO) in 1997 as the Association for the Economic Education of Young Managers.

We offer courses through all level of education from elementary to university. All courses emphasize the market economy and development of the entrepreneurial spirit. With a combination of theory and practice, adjusted for the age of the students, we are providing the necessary knowledge of the market economy, with a goal to acquire skills for running their own business in the future.

Our mission


To inspire and help young people gain understanding of: business and economics; value market driven economies; develop entrepreneurial and leadership skills; understand the relevance of education in the work place and the impact of economics on their future.

Our Goals

  • The overall goal is to increase the number of participants to entrepreneurship education in schools and universities.
  • Improving the image of entrepreneurs in society and the attractiveness of entrepreneurship as a career choice as well as fostering creativity and innovation in education and training.
  • Attract young people that are innovative and have ideas to start their own business. To equip and enlarge their business competencies in order to make them competitive on the global market, and at the same time to accelerate the growth of the small and medium enterprises as holders of the national economy.
  • Free of charge training for career counseling for young people.
  • Development of start up businesses through direct mentoring of young entrepreneurs.

Results- community contribution

1) Young entrepreneurial potential became visible and orientation toward the entrepreneurship, as the key factor for community development was recognized.

2) Better inclusion of young people in the local economic development and improvement of their representation in the economic “mainstream”.

3) Creation of partnership between educational institutions, local development institutions and businesses.
