Jong Ondernemen

Jong Ondernemen operates in the Netherlands as a non-profit organisation. In 1990, it was founded as a combined initiative of the ABN AMRO bank and Employers Association VNO-NCW in close association with the Order of Accountants, the Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Jong Ondernemen aims to let everyone between the ages of 11 – 29 come into contact with entrepreneurship through one of its programmes. Our programmes, such as the Student Company, help students develop an entrepreneurial attitude and give them the chance to put their skills into practice. Students learn about the opportunities and challenges of running a business, by actually doing so. In that way, participants develop their entrepreneurial skills.

Every year, thousands of pupils and students at all educational levels – from primary school to secondary school and from vocational education to universities of applied science – participate in a Jong Ondernemen programme. These programmes form an excellent preparation for independent entrepreneurship and help create an active and entrepreneurial attitude in participating pupils and students.
